The Bud Fund was established in 2009 prior to the opening of our Veterinary Center. The Humane Society of Ocean City transferred a Pug, "Bud", who suffered a severe back injury and was living in an overcrowded shelter that was unable to provide for his medical needs, and Bud was running out of time. The HSOC created "The Bud Fund" to help pay for Bud's extensive veterinary expenses, provide him with rehabilitation care, and a specially designed wheelchair. The "Bud Funds" are used to help other animal residents with special medical needs.
"Bud" was adopted that same year, and due to all of the wonderful care and therapy he received, Bud no longer required the wheel chair. The HSOC still collects funds in Bud's name to help offset veterinary costs for shelter residents with special medical needs. Would you help a HSOC special needs animal today?
The Carter Fund was established in 2016 in honor of a HSOC Veterinary Center client. This fund helps to offset unexpected emergency veterinary care incurred by HSOC Veterinary Center clients. The HSOC designates these funds to clients in need. Would you help a local family in need?
The Paws Cause fund was created by HSOC Shelter staff with the intention of keeping pets in their current homes. This fund helps families looking to surrender their pet due to lack of financial resources. This fund may provide food, veterinary care, or other needs. Would you help a local family keep their beloved pet?
